Bonjour,
Joe took Max into Abidjan this morning. Max is going to Burkina Faso to preach in a missions conference up there. Joe needed to purchase a paper to get our vehicle put in our name. Max will see the Smiths while he is in Burkina Faso. So, he is going to hand deliver the car paper and then bring it back with him.
Max needed to buy some chicks to take to an Ivoirian missionary in Burkina Faso. That would be a lovely trip on the public transportation system with ten live chicks! I’m sure some other animals will be present as well. : )
Then, Joe dropped Max off at the station where he could get a ride to Techiman, Ghana. From there, he will take a bus to Burkina Faso.
I started packing today. We leave on Thursday. We are excited!

Gilbert is getting in on the countdown. Yesterday, we told him it was four more days before we got on the airplane. He kept saying all day, “Four more days!” So, he said that again this morning. Joe told him that now it was only three more days. Joe explained that today was Monday and that we were going to see Papa on Friday. Gilbert said, “Gilbert wants to see Papa on Monday.” He’s no dummy! : )
Danny is walking more and more. He likes to get a toy in each hand and take off.
It was 103 degrees this morning. It started raining this afternoon, and the temperature is now 72 degrees. It is still raining. This time of year is usually the second shorter rainy season, but the first one never really ended this year. We have had rain pretty regularly since June. That is a blessing.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
