Bonjour!
This morning, Joe came up to the hospital at 8:00 so that he would be there when the doctor came by. The doctor came around 8:30. He told us that we could go home today.
We didn’t actually leave the hospital until 12:00. It took them that long to figure up our bill and get the “head tag” ready. The “head tag” is a little slip of paper with the information about the baby. It just said “Baby Consford” on it along with his measurements.
Gilbert stayed at home and played with Nana. She had just put him down for a nap when we got home.
The Machs brought lunch for us. There was plenty left for supper too.
Just as Danny and I were going down for a nap, Gilbert woke up. He was happy to see that Mommy and the baby were home. He had to touch the baby a little before we went to sleep.
Joe and Gilbert went into town to the Birth and Death Registry. Joe wanted to get the ball rolling on getting the official birth certificate. They didn’t even look at the “head tag” from the hospital. They just got all of the information from Joe. The birth certificate should be ready on Thursday. They were shocked that I was older than Joe. They asked him if he was sure that he wanted them to put that age for me on the paper. I guess here the men don’t marry someone that is older than they are.
A storm was blowing in this evening. We sat outside for a little while. It was nice and cool.
Danny went to sleep around 4:30. Right now, he seems to sleep a lot during the day and is up more at night.
