Bonjour!
Joe was up early with his allergies this morning. He took an allergy pill that threw him for a loop.
I taught my English class this morning. It went well. We didn’t cover much new material; we have to take things pretty slowly. I think that most of them are catching on.
Gilbert had fun playing this morning. He was playing with his blocks when I got home. He is doing better at putting the right shapes in the right place. He claps for himself as he gets the blocks to go in the bucket.
This afternoon, Gilbert and I took a nap. The power went off around 2:00. Our naps came to an abrupt end. The power came back on about fifteen minutes later.

Gilbert played outside while Joe burned some limbs in the burning barrel. Then, we went into town. We got some kerosene lamps.
We saw the Wideners while we were in town. We met his parents. They are having a good time. His mother ran over her toe with a suitcase on the way here. The toe was infected; she had to have the toenail removed. But, she said that it came off easily, and she seems to be doing fine. They will head to Accra on Monday. Joe will ride with them. Brother Widener’s parents wanted to do some souvenir shopping before they leave on Tuesday. There are a lot more souvenirs in Accra than there are here. So, they will spend the night Monday night, see his parents off Tuesday morning, pick Joe’s Mom up Tuesday night, spend the night, and head back here on Wednesday.
Tonight is a power off night. It stayed on a little longer than scheduled, but it is off now. Joe made popcorn for us. Gilbert ate some popcorn; then, he almost fell asleep on the couch. He is in bed now.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, and Gilbert
