Bonjour,

The starter went out on our vehicle yesterday.  We had to get a rolling start to get it started.  Joe took it to the mechanic first thing this morning and was back up and going by 9:30.  He took Max into Abidjan to get some things for the Missions Conference later this week.

Danny didn’t sleep well last night.  He had the diarrhea all through the night.  This morning, he had a fever.  While Joe was gone, Danny’s fever went up to 102, and Danny was just miserable.  We thought it might be malaria since those are two of the symptoms.  Joe told me to schedule a doctor’s appointment for this afternoon.

Joe got back from Abidjan about 2:30.  Joe held Danny for a few minutes.  Just after he handed Danny back to me, Danny puked everywhere.  We took Gilbert over to the Litsons’ house and headed to Abidjan at 2:45 for our 3:45 appointment.

The doctor said that he has seen several people in the past few days with the symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting.  He looked in Danny’s mouth, and Danny has two bottom molars coming in.  The doctor said that the teeth were causing the fever.  The other symptoms were caused by a stomach virus.  So, he gave us some medicine to start Danny on right away to help his stomach.

Danny is already feeling a lot better this evening.  He just wanted to be held all day, but now he is playing and getting into trouble again.  He still has the diarrhea, but he hasn’t puked anymore.  His mouth is still hurting, but his fever has gone down.

We did not go to see David because we didn’t want him to catch Danny’s stomach virus.  But, we did ask the doctor how he is doing.  He is talking and responding now.  His fever has come down, and his malaria count is coming down as well.  He has some type of infection in his stomach.  They will do a procedure tomorrow with a scope to see what is causing that problem.
