Bonjour,

This morning, Gilbert did not want to go to school.  He said that he did not feel good.  I told him that he did not have a fever and he was not puking and that he had to go.  The tears started before he went out the door.  He cried again when Joe dropped him off.  He must have gotten it under control shortly thereafter because when we picked him up today, he said that he only cried on the playground, not in his classroom.  He said, "Mom, I didn't even use all ten of my kleenexes."  I had given him a package of kleenex this morning and told him that there were ten in it.
Gilbert and Bonnie seem to be getting over their cold.  Danny still has a cold.
Around 11:00, Joe and I went into town with Kristine.  We went to the post office, ate lunch, and went grocery shopping.  Then, we picked the kids up from school.  As Joe and I were getting out of the car to go get the kids, some little kids asked, "Pastor Joe, what is the name of your mother?"  They were talking about me.
The kids talked all the way home telling us about school.  Bonnie always says that they watched a movie in the afternoon, but she can never remember what they watched.  Maybe she falls asleep during it.
Gilbert said, "Mom, you have homework tonight." He meant that Bonnie had homework, and he knows she can't do it by herself.  She attempted to start before I got to the table, and she had scribbled all over the page.
Danny told us that Benedict, a boy in his class, had requested prayer for his mom because she had been hit with a "fufu pounder."  Only in Africa!  : )  Fufu is one of the local dishes made by pounding plantains with a big stick.  (It is like a mortar and pestle but on a much bigger scale.)  Apparently, she hit her finger while pounding fufu.
After supper, I made brownies while the kids picked up their bedroom.  Then, the kids did their homework.  Bonnie laughs at the little sayings that I come up with to try to help her make the letters.  Danny did much better on his homework tonight; he had a good attitude and did a good job.  He said, "Mom, this won't take long!"  What came over him?  : )  Gilbert has very nice penmanship.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
