W'apow mu e,

We all had a good night sleep last night.  Malaria can make you have some weird dreams though!

The kids were in a good mood this morning.  That sure does help the morning go a lot smoother.   We got out the door 15 minutes early!

The road to school has been getting progressively worse during this rainy season.  They have not done any maintenance on the road for the last 12 months.  School is 3.5 miles away and due to the condition of the road it takes almost an hour to get to school.  The kids that ride to school with us have a dog that follows them to our house each morning.  Today the dog followed our car all the way to school.  That is bad when a dog can get to a place as fast as we can in the car.

By the time I got home today my fever was up again.  I took a cold shower and went to bed.

When it was time to go get the kids from school I called a taxi because I was dizzy and did not want to drive on those (I hate to even call them roads!) roads.  I called the taxi and had him go and pick the kids up from school.  (Let him beat his car across those pig trails!)  When the taxi got home I was shocked that he was so early and he told me that they had finally graded the roads!  THE FIRST TIME IN 12 MONTHS!

Since I knew the roads were fixed we drove to a restaurant which is just a couple of miles from the house.  The kids like that restaurant and I did not have to cook or wash dishes!  We also got some ice cream at the grocery store next door to the restaurant.

The pool is completely filled and the kids were having a ball swimming this afternoon.  That is until Bonnie put her hand down on a scorpion!  It was only an inch long and was very well camouflaged on the sidewalk.  I could not even see it and I thought she was just being a drama queen.  Then I saw it move and I felt bad for poor Bonnie!  She has been telling everyone that comes within ear shot that she was stung by a scorpion!

Tonight just before bed time Bonnie cam to me and said, "Dad, my teacher said a bad word in class today.  She did not know it was bad!  She said it again, and I knew that she was saying something bad and did not even know it.  So, I told her it was a bad word.  Do you know what the bad word was Dad?  STUPID!"  I was sure glad that was what the bad word was!

 Nantsew yie!
