Bonjour,

We left the guest house about 7:30 this morning.  We took a taxi to the bus station.  The bus filled up quickly.  Then, the bus driver had a rather heated discussion with the station people.  Apparently, they didn’t think the driver had paid them enough.  They settled their differences, and then we were off.  We sat in the front seat on this bus.

We got back to Takoradi about 12:30.  We took a taxi to the mechanic shop to get our vehicle.  The electrician had not come to work on the alternator.  His excuse was that he is Muslim.  On Thursday, he had to get ready for Friday’s day of prayer.  Friday was the day of prayer, and this morning he was recovering from the day of prayer.

So, Joe brought me home.  The kids were happy to see us.  They said that they had been good and were looking for their surprise.  Then, Joe headed back into town to have the alternator worked on.  They got that fixed.  The vehicle is now up and running.  The only problem now is that our car papers have expired.  Joe will have to go to the border on Monday to renew the insurance and the car papers.

I tried to have the kids take naps, but they were too excited.  Danny said, “I just need to see you, Mom.”  I got the sheets washed and hung out on the line.

After supper, Gilbert thought that we should watch a movie because they had put it on their list of things to do today and had not gotten to it yet.  The kids played up at the Luthers’ house this morning while Kristine and Becky went visiting.

The news from Ivory Coast is not good.  Please be much in prayer for the people there.

We read the Siekberts’ prayer letter today.  (We took care of their church here in Ghana when they furloughed in 2006.)  Jackie has just been diagnosed with MS.  Please pray for her as they try to decide on a treatment method.  They are planning to return to Ghana in June.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
