W'apow mu e,

Danny was up bright and early this morning to help me pack the lunches for school.  Bonnie joined him.  Gilbert was the only one who we had to wake up.  They were all ready to go early.  Joe said that when the got to school, Gilbert said, "Danny and I might be a little bit scared."  Joe asked him why.  He said, "Because we don't know who our teachers are going to be."  Brother Dan told them who their teachers were; then, they were fine.

Joe woke up with a broken tooth this morning.  He went to the dentist, but the nurse was not in today.  The dentist could not do anything without the nurse because she sterilizes all of the tools.  So, he is supposed to go back tomorrow morning.  In the meantime, the dentist gave him a couple medicines to take to prevent infection.

I did some typing this morning.  Then, I worked on trying to get caught up on the laundry.

Our power was off last night for a few hours.  Joe heard today that the load shedding schedule is every other night for now.  So, we shall see.

The kids all had a good first day of school.  They were all excited to tell me who their teachers are.  Gilbert said that they didn't do much work today, but that tomorrow, it was going to get serious with homework and everything!

The kids all had a new lunch bag today.  It has a compartment for a plastic box that slides in the bottom of the bag.  They were all excited about having something in that bottom compartment.  I told them all that their sandwich was in the bottom box.  When I told them to get their drink bottles and their sandwich box out of their bags, Danny looked rather dismayed as he said, "Oh, I forgot that my sandwich was in the bottom box.  I didn't even eat it, Mom."

Joe has discovered a new game – Angry Birds.  The kids like it too.  He has been letting the kids take turns playing the game.  When Danny's turn was over this evening, he said, "Dad, you ruined my life."  I guess he didn't think his turn should be over yet.

Bonnie informed us that she didn't even have to go to the office…yet.  Danny has a wound on his elbow that keeps getting reopened.  He had to go to the office but just for a band-aid for his bleeding elbow.  Gilbert fell on the pavement and put a hole in the knee of his brand new pants.  That's about all of our first-day-of-school news.

Nantsew yie!
