Bonjour,
Our Sunday morning went a little differently than we had planned. We
were all almost ready for church and were getting ready to leave. I was
getting Bonnie dressed. Gilbert and Danny were already ready. They
were up on our bed playing. Somehow Danny fell off the bed right on his
head. He cut his head open just above the hairline. It was about a one
inch gash. It was pretty deep and was gaping open. We called the
doctor, and he said that he would meet us at his office in an hour. (It
takes us an hour to get there.)
When we were trying to get the bleeding stopped, I was holding a rag on
Danny's head. Usually, if you ask Danny if he is okay, he says, "Yes."
Gilbert was worried about Danny. He said, "Are you okay, Danny?" Danny
said, "No!"
Joe called Romeo to tell him that we wouldn't be at church. Then, we
headed to Abidjan.
We got to the doctor's office before the doctor did. He looked at
Danny's head and said that it needed stitches. He gave Danny three
shots around the cut to deaden the area. Then, he put three stitches
in. Danny was kicking and screaming not because it hurt but because he
didn't want to stay still. The nurse was holding Danny's head still,
and Joe was holding the rest of Danny's body down while the doctor tried
to sew.

Since we weren't far from Dan's church and wouldn't be able to make it
back to Belleville in time, we went to his church for the morning
service. Danny was a bit irritable, but we made it through. We ate
lunch at La Salsa before heading home.
Romeo said that the service went well this morning. There were 73 in
attendance. Paeon, a boy who has always caused trouble in the
neighborhood, came to church for the first time today. Marcel, the
teacher of the teen's class, has been talking to him and encouraging him
to come to church. A man whose wife and children come to church
faithfully came for the second Sunday in a row today.
The service went well this evening. Joe preached tonight.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
