Bonjour,

We had planned on spending the day at home. We got some things done
around the house this morning. The boys were playing outside. Around
lunch time, the boys came in. Danny was crying and wanted me to hold
him. Gilbert was telling us that Danny had fallen down on the cement
slab outside. Danny stopped crying and was ready to go outside with
Gilbert again. As they headed out the door, Gilbert said, "Oh, Danny's
bleeding again."

Danny had split his chin open. It was on the bottom of his chin. I had
blood all over my shirt, and I hadn't even noticed it yet. Joe was on
the phone. So, I took Danny to the bathroom so that we could get a rag
to see how bad it was. It was gaping open. So, we all loaded up and
headed to Abidjan to go to the doctor. We got to the doctor's office in
record time.

The doctor gave Danny several shots to numb the area; then, he gave him
three stitches. Danny didn't cry until the last stitch. Joe said that
Danny started crying because he didn't want to be still anymore. After
the first stitch, Joe asked Danny, "Did that hurt?" Danny said, "Yes."
After the next stitch, Danny said, "That hurt, Dad." He is pretty tough.

Since we were in town and it was past lunch time, we went downstairs and
ate a restaurant there. The boys wanted to go ride the coin-operated
cars after lunch. Then, we headed home.

Danny didn't complain at all about hurting. He played all evening just
like he normally does.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
