W'apow mu e,

Joe took the kids to school this morning.  This morning, I worked on hemming some pants that I shortened yesterday.

Then, we went into town.  A church in the States had the kids who came to their VBS give toward buying mosquito nets for people in Africa.  That church sent us money to buy mosquito nets.  Joe spent the morning trying to find a place that would sell them in bulk for a good price.  He was able to order 100 at a wholesale price; they should be in on Tuesday.  I walked around the market circle and then went to the grocery store while he was looking for mosquito nets.

After that, we went out to eat.  We went to one restaurant to get golden fried prawns.  About ten minutes after we placed our order, they came back to tell us that they didn't have any prawns.  That restaurant is more pricey than most.  If they didn't have the prawns, we really didn't want to eat there.  So, we paid for our Cokes and went to a Chinese restaurant instead.

We definitely see some interesting things when we are out and about.  Today, there was a taxi with the following words on its back window: "No Brain, No Gain."  We had a good laugh over that one.  Then, later, there was a Vespa scooter going down the road with a passenger behind the driver; the passenger was pulling a wheelbarrow along behind them.  The wheelbarrow contained two 100 lb. bags of cement!

After school, Danny and Bonnie swam for a little while.  Gilbert decided that he didn't want to swim.  He said that his mind was telling him that he needed to work, work, work.

I was making pizza for supper.  When the kids came in and discovered what I was doing, they all wanted to help.  Danny was instructing Bonnie about the placement of the pepperoni.  He said, "You put them in a circle around the edge.  Then, you do a smaller circle inside of that.  Then, you put a pepperoni in the middle; that's the most important part!"

While we were working on the pizzas, Bonnie was trying to remember a poem about an Indian child which they have been learning at school.  She said, "Who's that peeking from the TV?"  I said, "It's tepee, not TV."  She said, "Well, I think my teacher said 'TV.'"  Now, she pauses when she gets to that part so we can remind her what she is supposed to say.

The power went off just before supper time.  It is our turn for load shedding again.
