Bonjour,

We had a great day at church.  More children came for Sunday school than usual.  I had 32 for Sunday school in the six and under class and had 40 by junior church time.  I had my hands full, but I did have a helper.

Joe and Dan went to visit Dan’s dad yesterday.  He came to church this morning with three other people in Dan’s family.  Dan was very encouraged that his dad came.

As I was teaching during junior church, there were three naked children standing at the back gate of the church.  Just as I was going to send my helper to send them home, someone chased them away from the gate.  After church, I was telling Joe about them.  He said that they had walked right into the auditorium.  They did not make it very far; one of the ladies hopped up and chased them out.  After they got chased out of the building, I guess they decided to try coming to the back gate so that they could figure out what was happening at church.  There is seldom a dull moment in Africa!!

After the morning service, Bright got baptized.  Bright is in the Ghanaian Army and is preparing to go to Lebanon with the UN.  Please pray for his safety and his continued spiritual growth.

Gilbert was worried about not being able to see Bright get baptized.  But, all three kids found a place right up front.

On the way home, Danny said, “Bright is my brother and Gilbert’s brother now, right Dad?”  Joe told him that he was right.  Danny said, “You’re my brother too, Dad, because I’ve been saved.”  Bonnie said, “When I get baptized, you’re not going to call me a boy, are you Dad?”  Everyone that has gotten baptized recently has been a male; she has heard him say, “I baptize you, my brother,…”  She said, “I’ll be your sister when I understand better, right Dad?”

We went home, had lunch, took naps, and headed back to church again.  There were fifteen in attendance tonight.  We had a good service.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
