Bonjour,
There is a tree branch on our power line. When the wind blows, it sparks and makes everything go haywire. We called the power company; their reply was "Unless tomorrow." We turned everything off and are going to fire up the generator for the night. Otherwise, we won't have anything left by morning. Pray that the power company will come tomorrow to take care of the problem. We can't remove the branch ourselves without being electrocuted.
The kids had a good day at school. Danny said that he had to stand up in the back of the class because he argued with his teacher about the words to our national anthem. We told him that he should never argue with the teacher, even if she is wrong. I printed out the words and showed Danny that he was wrong and that the teacher was right. He has got the right words down now!
A boy in Danny's class had a birthday today. He had brought a snack for everyone. Danny said that one boy didn't get the snack because he wouldn't share the candy that his parents had sent on his birthday. When Danny prayed for supper tonight, he prayed about his birthday cupcakes. (His birthday is on Wednesday, and he is going to take cupcakes.) He said, "Thank you for my cupcakes, and I will share them with everybody. I won't be selfish." When Danny finished praying, Gilbert said, "That's silly to pray about your cupcakes, Danny!" We told him that it was fine for him to pray about his cupcakes; at least he was thinking of not being selfish. Danny is usually very good about sharing except when it comes to garlic bread or deviled eggs! But, he did offer Gilbert the bigger piece of garlic bread the other night. We are making progress!
The boys helped Joe burn a palm tree that we cut down awhile back. They kept collecting more things to add to the fire.
We decided to start walking around the field every day. We took five laps tonight. Two more laps would have made a mile. Bonnie walked four and a half laps with us before she turned around to go sit with the brothers. Gilbert took one lap. Danny was coaching us telling us, "Run; don't walk!" Both boys ran one lap toward the end of our laps.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
