Bonjour,

We did school this morning.  I told Gilbert that I didn't hear him saying his blends with the rest of the class.  He said, "Well, if you were inside my body, you would be able to hear me."  He was in trouble for that!  We went round and round this morning, but we did get school completed for the day.
Joe went to a Town Hall meeting with the US Ambassador today.  Most of the people who came to the meeting were African guardians of children who are American citizens by birth.  It ended up being a political mess.  They kept asking questions about why America had backed Ouattara.  A man wearing two baseball caps was so adamant in asking his question that he tried to approach the ambassador and was stopped by the guard.  The main purpose of the meeting was to tell people that if they were going to leave the country, they should do so now.  If it comes to evacuation, they will only be evacuating people to Accra, Ghana, (which requires a visa).  From there, you are on your own.
Joe was able to talk with the ambassador, the consular, and the head of security after the meeting.  They seem to think it is going to be a long, drawn-out process, and that it could become dangerous.
Joe is planning to pick up our stuff that is at the port tomorrow.  Pray that all of that goes well.  On Thursday, we will take Sara Bascue's stuff out to Anyama and spend a couple days out there.  Next week, Joe is going to work on getting a visa to go to Burkina Faso to visit the Randy Smith family.  After he gets that visa, the whole family will travel to Ghana.  The children and I will stay with the Widener family in Cape Coast while Joe goes to Burkina Faso.
This afternoon, we went to the field across the street.  Jennifer, Bonnie, and I walked laps around the field while the boys played football.  Bonnie kept wanting us to run.  She was between us holding our hands.  When we would get going fast enough, she would pick her feet up.  When we went back to walking, she would say, "I wanted you to run."  Danny takes that tackling business serious.  His cheek collided with the back of Gilbert's head on one tackle.
At supper, the boys were talking about playing football.  Bonnie started saying, "Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me; I'm the gingerman bread."
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
