Happy 55th Birthday, Ghana!  We were here when Ghana celebrated her 50th birthday.  We never dreamed then that we would be back in Ghana permanently five years later.

Everyone is starting to feel better. No one had a fever today.  The kids are still coughing and have runny noses, but I think they are on the mend.
Charlie Luther was able to get a truck this morning.  Joe went up and helped Charlie and Martin get everything loaded up.
The field was full of children today since everyone was out of school for Ghanaian Independence Day.  There were 200 kids out in the field at one point.  The vendors were out in force today – hot dogs, fruit, water sachets, etc.  Those who could not afford to buy water took all of our water.  Our holding tank was empty, and the well was empty.  The valves have locks on them, but they used sticks to get around the locks.  Once they got water coming out, they couldn't get it to stop.  When Joe came down from helping Charlie load the truck, water was spraying everywhere.  Joe got it stopped.  We had to wait for the well to fill back up so that we could pump water into our holding tank.
Charlie and Martin left about 10:30 to head to Koforidua.  We are going to be moving into the Luthers' house in the next few weeks.  So, we went up there to look around to see what needs to be done before we move in.  There are a few minor repairs needed as well as some security bars.
We came back home and ate lunch.   Just after the kids went down for naps, the power went off.  It went off and on several times and then stayed off for four hours.  It is back up and running this evening.
Joe grilled hamburgers outside tonight.  It was about to rain, but he got most of them cooked before it started to sprinkle.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
