Bonjour,

We left the house at 8:00 this morning to go to Abidjan for follow-up
visits for Danny and Bonnie. Danny is completely better. Bonnie is
getting better.

While we were there, Gilbert told the doctor that he has a cough. He
just started coughing yesterday. So, the doctor checked him out and
prescribed a cough medicine. Then, Joe mentioned that I had a sore
throat and cold symptoms. The doctor looked at me and said that I have
the flu. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory and something similar to
Theraflu. He didn't charge us anything for the doctor visits today.

We stopped at the store to get a few things. It was a little before
11:00; so, we decided just to eat lunch at home. The traffic was moving
along pretty well; then, it came to a complete stop. Apparently, the
president was headed back from up north, and they were letting his
entourage drive south in the northbound lanes. When we got to the Abobo
exit, we took that and went home a different way. It usually takes
about an hour to get home, and it took two because of the traffic.

We had lunch. Then, everyone went down for a nap.

I was feeling okay this morning but have gotten progressively worse
throughout the day. Hopefully no one else catches the flu bug.

This evening, Joe was talking to his mom on the computer. I was sitting
in the living room holding Bonnie. All of the sudden, I looked down and
there was a little snake slithering across the floor. I snatched Danny
up because he was standing on the floor. Gilbert was on the couch. My
voice is not at full strength right now, but I yelled as loud as I
could, "Joseph, there's a snake!" He had his earphones on; he heard me
on the second yell. He killed the snake with his shoe. He showed it to
the guard. The guard said that it was a grass snake. It probably came
in under the door or through the garage. I guess we will be having a
garage cleaning once again! I don't like snakes!!

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
