W'apow mu e,
The dentist saga continues. When Joe went this morning, there was a mass of humanity clamoring to be seen by the dentist. Apparently his nurse retired, and he has not been seeing patients for a while. Today was the new nurse's first day, and everyone thought that they should be seen first. Joe did not want to mess with all of that. He told them that he would come back tomorrow. Please pray that he will be able to get something done to his broken tooth tomorrow.
Today it was Bonnie's turn for uniform trouble. There is a new bathroom at the school. I guess they chose to paint it today. The only problem is that there is no bathroom monitor for the girls because both of Bonnie's teachers are guys. No one warned them about the wet, oil-based paint. Bonnie leaned up against the wall and got white paint all over her new green uniform. We were able to get most of it out with turpentine and soap.
Gilbert had homework today. The only problem was that he did not know what he was supposed to do. There was one sentence written in his book. We didn’t know if he was supposed to answer the question, rewrite the sentence, or what. We told him to make sure to write down what he is supposed to do or at least know what he is supposed to do before he leaves the classroom.
While Gilbert was working on his homework, Danny was busy writing too. He brought his “project” in to me. He said, “Mom, we had a number chart on our DVD today, but I don’t think my teacher has one. So, I’m trying to make one for him.” He had 1-10 written down the side of his page. Then, he was trying to draw the corresponding animals with each number. He said, “It is one crocodile, two lions, three panda bears, etc.” He had drawn the animals up through number five, but he was next to six with his drawings. He wanted to know if I could help him transfer the animals to the back of the page. I showed Danny’s chart to Joe, and we got tickled. It was so cute that he was concerned about his teacher not having a number chart.
Bonnie’s highlight of the day is learning new songs. So far, that is the only thing she has told us about. She comes home singing something new each day. She informed me today that her teacher said she didn’t need to bring her pillow and blanket because they don’t take naps in K-4.

All of the kids were supposed to take a nap after they got home today. Bonnie went to sleep, but the boys didn’t.
Just as we got to church and turned the lights on, the power went off for load shedding. Preaching by candlelight and having a broken tooth were a bit of a challenge, but Joe made it through. With it being so dark, both boys fell asleep toward the end of the service. Bonnie made it through. Bonnie was tickled pink that she got to pray out loud during prayer time at the end of the service.
The power is off at our house too. So, it looks like our area and the area where the church are will be following the every-other night load shedding schedule. Some areas seem to always have power; someone influential must live in those areas. Our next project is to try to get a generator for the church with the power being off so much in the evenings.
Nantsew yie!
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
