Bonjour,
We were going to go into town this morning to do some grocery shopping, but we found out that it was environmental day. The police were out in the morning making sure that people were cleaning up their area. If they caught people driving, their punishment was cleaning out the sewer ditch. No thank you!!! We stayed home and worked on our environment. Joe spotted a green mamba in the tree above the well house. The chase was on. Charlie went to get his pellet gun. While he was gone, one of the Africans decided to throw a stick. So, they lost the snake for a while. A little bit later, we heard a commotion. Kids were yelling and pointing up in the tree. Joe went out there and called Charlie to bring the gun. After a few tries, they got him. It was hard to spot the green snake in the green tree.
The kids went to Bible club. I did some laundry and got it out on the line.
At noon, envirnomental time was over. We took the Luthers to lunch at Captain Hooks to thank them for all that they have done for us. We had pizza and had a good time of fellowship. The kids all had to make several trips inside to the bathroom so that they could see the leopard skin on the wall on their way through.
When we got back home, it had rained. The laundry was all wet again. I guess it got washed twice today. Before it got dark, I brought the things that were still wet inside and draped them over chairs.
Charlie and Joe dropped us off at home for nap time. Then, they went back into town to get the groceries.
We had sloppy joes for supper. Then, the kids watched a movie about monkeys. Soon, we had three little “monkeys” all over the house.
Pray for Mrs. Todd, a missionary here in Ghana. She fell and broke her hip. She is awaiting surgery; the specialist won’t arrive until Tuesday at the earliest.
Please pray also for my friend, Leah Madden. Her grandma died last night. She had recently been diagnosed with cancer. She was saved and is no longer in pain.
Continue to pray for the situation in Ivory Coast. We didn’t hear of any more fighting today.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
