Bonjour,
This morning, we were going to go to the ocean with the Luthers, April, Kristine, and Becky. Joe went down to start the car, and the battery was dead. He called Charlie, and Charlie said that he would come jump start us when they were ready to go. So, I got the lunch made and extra clothes packed for everyone. We got everything loaded in the car. Charlie came down and tried to jump start us, but the battery was completely dead. They tried to push start it; that didn’t work either. Charlie offered to take the boys with them to the ocean. So, we went with that plan.
Bonnie was upset that she got left behind. She did okay for a while. Then, she would ask, “Where are the brothers? Did they go up to the Lukers?” I told her that they weren’t up at the Luthers’ house; they were at the ocean. She started crying and said, “Well, I wanted to go to the ocean too.” I told her that we would all go another day. Bonnie and I watched Pollyanna while Joe went in search of a battery.
Joe got a new battery, and the vehicle started right up. The radiator was also dry again this morning. He found a leaky hose and got that replaced as well. He drove around town for a while, and the vehicle ran fine.
Bonnie asked me if she could play for a few minutes before nap time. I told her to play quietly for a few minutes. She came in and told me, “I just made a little bit of noise, just like a little tweet, Mom.” A few minutes later, I told her it was time to go to bed. I told her that she could sleep with me or go to her bed. She chose her bed. She must have gotten too hot in her bed because she moved to the floor and went back to sleep.
The boys had a good time. Their sun screen must have worn off because they are both crispy critters. This is the first time that they have had a bad sunburn. They took a bath in vinegar water, and we sprayed them down with aloe vera spray.
After supper, Joe made popcorn. The boys requested “regular popcorn” tonight with just salt, not kettle corn like we had last time. We ate popcorn and watched a movie. Danny fell alseep on the couch.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
