HA! All I really know is just a few words of greeting. My best friend growing up moved to Zaire when I was a kid and we wrote letters back and forth. When you said Swahili it brought back some very good memories. I must confess though, I just used google translator for that last part! HA! If you can fake it you can make it. Kettel corn is easy once you get the hang of it, it took me a couple of practice runs and some serious smoke in the kitchen before I got it right.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. There should be enough oil to cover the bottom of the pot, no more. Once hot, add the popcorn Also enough to cover the bottom of the pot. When the popcorn gets happy and is just about to pop sprinkle some sugar over the top. If it is a large pot of popcorn, about a 1/4 cup of sugar will do. Use while sugar to make kettle corn and brown sugar to make caramel corn. Cover, and shake the pot constantly to keep the sugar from burning. Once the popping has slowed to once every 2 to 3 seconds, remove the pot from the heat and continue to shake for a few minutes until the popping has stopped. Pour into a large bowl, and allow to cool, stirring occasionally to break up large clumps.
