Bonjour,

Joe took the vehicle to the mechanic today to start getting things ready for the yearly inspection.  They took the vehicle apart and fixed the brakes, suspension, steering, electrical problems, etc.  The mechanic had to send someone to get parts.  They came back with the wrong parts and had to go back.  When they found the right parts, they were more expensive; so, they had to come back for more money.  Needless to say, Joe spent a long day under the shade tree.

Ivory Coast played against Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations this evening.  Joe got in on all of the excitement.  Ivory Coast won 3 to 0, which puts them in the quarter finals.  Joe said that no less than 3,000 people ran down the street right next to him.  They were beating on cans and waving flags.  Joe said all of the dogs were barking too.  They are serious about soccer here!

Joe got home just before 20:00.  They got the car all put back together again.

Danny is feeling better today.  He still has the diarrhea, but the fever and vomiting are gone.  His teeth are still bothering him; so, he hasn’t been very happy.  But, Gilbert was happy that at least Danny would play with him today and laugh at him.  Yesterday, Gilbert was sad; he said, “Mom, Danny can’t even laugh.”

A demain,
