Danny Made It to the Philippines

Our son Danny is on a medical missions trip to the Philippines, and I wanted to share a quick update on how he got there.

He drove to Houston and left his car at a church near the airport. From there, he flew out of IAH to LAX, made the long walk to his international gate, and boarded a 14-hour flight to Manila. He thought he might get a little extra space on that flight. His row was empty right up until the last few minutes of boarding, then a family with two small kids filled it in. If you've done international travel, you know exactly what that moment feels like. Thankfully, the kids slept most of the flight, and things went fine.

After landing in Manila, he cleared customs, took a bus over to the domestic terminal, grabbed some breakfast, and caught his final flight to Tacloban. The group picked him up at the airport when he arrived.

He left Houston at 7:00 PM on the 16th and touched down in Tacloban around 1:00 PM on the 18th. That's a long way to go, and we're grateful he got there safely.
