Bonjour!

Joe is feeling better today. He just took it easy this morning. Around

noon, we went into town to check the post office box. We actually had some

mail today! For some reason, it has been taking a long time for us to

receive mail lately. I guess we shouldn’t complain though; in Ivory Coast,

the postal workers are on strike, and no mail is being received at all.

We ate lunch while we were in town. On the way home, Joe dropped me off at

the internet café. He took the boys on home for naps. I took a taxi home.

Church went well this evening. There were fifteen in attendance. Gilbert

really likes the song service. One guy didn’t have his hymnal open. So,

Gilbert went to help him. Then, Gilbert told him “Sing!”

Bonjour!

This morning, Joe drove about an hour and a half away to pick up the

trailer. Another missionary was in Ivory Coast and brought the trailer that

far for us.

The boys and I spent the day at home. Around noon, I started to get a

migraine. By the time Joe got home, I was ready to go to bed. Joe tried to

entertain the boys as much as possible. Gilbert really wanted to go see

Mommy. He came into the room and said, “Okay?” That is his way of asking,

“Are you okay?” He was worried about me.

I feel much better this morning.

We went into town to get a family picture taken. The “studio” was called

Duodo’s Bethel Fotos. I thought that was an interesting name. She had a

few different backgrounds. We had a family picture taken. Then, I was

going to have individual pictures of the boys taken, but she didn’t have

anything to prop them up on. She had a chair, but the space in the back was

too wide for Danny to sit there by himself without falling out the back of

the chair. She tried having Gilbert sit on the arm of the chair, but he

knew that he was supposed to sit in the chair, not on the arm. We ended up

with both boys in the chair with Gilbert’s arm behind Danny. Just as she

took the picture, Gilbert grabbed his shoe. Oh well, hopefully it turned

out okay.

We picked up some meat for the Wideners. We stopped at the house to change

clothes. Then, we headed to Cape Coast. The Wideners had invited us for

lunch. We told Gilbert that we were going to see Johnny. We thought he

would sleep on the way there. It takes a little over an hour to get there.

But, Gilbert was too excited about seeing Johnny. He kept saying, “Johnny!”

every time that his eyes thought about closing.

We tried to send e-mail from the Wideners’ computer, but their computer

wouldn’t read our thumb-drive. We’re sorry you haven’t heard from us for a

few days.

Gilbert played hard all afternoon. He had a great time. Mrs. Widener got

their camera out and took some pictures and video of the boys. They are

going to put the pictures and video on a CD for us. We had a good time of

fellowship. We stayed a little longer than we had planned; so, it got dark

before we got home. But, we had a good trip.
