W’apow mu e,
Joe had quite an interesting day.  The group that went up for the wedding from our church traveled at night.  They were supposed to meet Joe at a certain junction in Kumasi around 6:00 this morning.  At 2:45 A.M., they called to say that they were at the junction.  Joe got ready, ate some breakfast, and headed out to meet them.  He has been going strong all day since then.

The wedding that he performed was for two of our church members.  The wedding was held at the bride’s father’s house.  Because the family was “in charge,” things were a little different.  Joe said that there were a lot of lost people present, and he was able to give a clear presentation of the gospel during the wedding ceremony.  All in all, the wedding went well.

As soon as the wedding ceremony was over, Joe and a couple people from the church headed home.  They did not want to travel after dark.  Last night as the group from the church was traveling up to Kumasi, there was a barricade set up in the road.  The driver thought that it looked fishy because they just had rocks set up in the road.  He drove around the rocks and kept going.  When they were stopped at the next police checkpoint, the police asked them if they had been stopped by armed robbers.  The police told them that the last ten cars that had passed through had been held up by armed robbers.  It was interesting that the police knew about it, yet they didn’t do anything to try to stop the robbers.  Either the police did not have weapons, or they were friends of the robbers.  You never can tell!  Anyway, Joe had an uneventful trip home and got home about 8:00 this evening.

The kids and I got some work done around the house.  No one came for Bible Club today.  The boys that got in trouble for stealing probably were afraid to come.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I gave hair cuts.  On Thursday, I said that I needed to give the boys a hair cut and trim Bonnie’s bangs.  After Danny heard that, he decided to try his own hand at cutting Bonnie’s hair.  He took a couple snips off of the sides; meanwhile, Gilbert came to tell on him with a glob of the hair that had been cut in his hand.  So, Bonnie got a hair cut as well.

I told the kids that we needed to work on cleaning the house up today.  Each person had their own idea of what that meant.  The boys wanted to organize their toy box.  They dumped the whole box and were vigorously sorting for about five minutes.  Then, they thought maybe they could just make a “road” out of the toys instead of putting things away.  Gilbert was offended when I told him that the toy road was not a good idea.  Bonnie thought we should clean her closet out since we cleaned the boys’ closet out yesterday.  We started on her closet, but we didn’t get it finished.  Earlier in the day, I had told the kids to report to the living room.  After naps, Bonnie said, “Report to my bedroom.”  That girl!

Bonnie and Danny were watching track and field events with me.  They set up their own race track on the rug in the living room.  Bonnie ran around and around the laundry basket.  Then, Danny decided to use the laundry basket as a hurdle.  He could clear the basket.  Bonnie tried and couldn’t get over it; so, she sat down on the basket and said, “I’m just taking a rest, Danny.  We are doing the 40 pound 10 by 100 race, you know.”

Nantsew yie!
