Bonjour!
Today, Joe worked on getting the Siekberts’ pump for their well going. A
couple of the guys from the church helped clean out the tanks and spray the
inside of the house with bug spray.
It sounds like the work on our house in Anyama is going well. They mounted
the gates on the outside of the wall so that they will open outward. They
also got the tile in the kitchen and bathrooms done. I am excited to see
that.

Bonjour!
Joe went to the internet café this morning, but it wasn’t open. The owner
couldn’t even get in. The workers hadn’t shown up because today is Good
Friday, a holiday here.
Joe came back home and then headed to the Siekberts’ house to get things
started there for the day. They are going to start cleaning the inside of
the house today. Joe was going to come back home after that and get us so
that we could go into town to look for diapers if anything was open.
Joe had left his phone here. So, I decided to walk over to the Siekberts’
house with the boys and meet Joe over there. I was going to take his phone
to him. I put the boys in the double stroller, and we headed out. I locked
the outside gate because I thought we would meet up with Joe, and he has a
key. Gilbert had a great time waving at the people that we passed and
pointing out the birds and dogs to me. Danny fell asleep in the stroller.
When we got to the Siekberts’ house, Joe wasn’t there. I just assumed he

had gone back home to get us. So, we went back home. He wasn’t there
either. We couldn’t get back inside because we didn’t have the gate key. We
walked back to the Siekberts’ house and got the extra gate key from Mensah.
Just as we were starting to head for home, Joe pulled up. He had gone back
to the internet café to see if it was open before he came to get us. It was
open; so, he checked for e-mail. We got our exercise for the morning! We
went into town and were able to find a place that was open that had diapers.
Most things were closed.
Joe was checking with the people that were helping at the house today to see
if they could work there again on Monday. They are out of school right now
for Easter Break. They told him that Monday is a holiday – Easter Monday. He
said that if they worked on Monday, we would do something special. They
agreed to come if I make pizza. Pizza is a special treat for them. We
should be able to finish up the cleaning on Monday.
The boys and I took a nap this afternoon. Then, we walked back over to the
Siekberts’ house to check on the progress. Joe walked back home with us
just before it got dark.
Gilbert had fun playing with his cars tonight. He is starting to like the
car from his birthday a little more. He still runs to the other side of the
room when we first turn it on, but he keeps asking for one of us to “turn
it.” He wants to hear it, but he doesn’t know if he wants to get too close
to it still. Joe was turning it on and chasing Gilbert with it. Gilbert
thought that was great. He hid behind my back and laughed and laughed.
Danny rolls over in both directions now. He has gotten up into the crawling
position a few times, but he can’t quite get going yet. When he tries to
move forward, he rolls over.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
