Bonjour,

This morning, Joe took Danny and Bonnie to school.  We kept Gilbert home another day to make sure that he was feeling better.  He was bored and didn't take a nap – no fever, no headache.  I think he is ready to go back to school!  He finished his last malaria treatment today.
I helped Gilbert do his papers that were sent home.  He got them all done today.
Dr. KB and his family and Becky Pope arrived this afternoon about 4:30.  They are headed back to Ivory Coast tomorrow.  Kristine is going with them too.  We have enjoyed having Kristine here; we will really miss her!
I worked on supper most of the afternoon.  Gilbert was glad when the other kids got home.  He wanted someone to play with him.
We had a good time at supper and a good time of fellowship.  After supper, I helped the kids with homework.  Becky and Kristine did the dishes for me.
The power was off all day.  We had the generator on most of the day except for turning it off to let it cool down.  The power came back on about 7:00 this evening, but it wasn't working right.  Two phases were still off, and the lights kept blinking.  Joe had gone to the church for a meeting.  He told me just to leave the generator on for a while.  The electric meter makes a beeping sound when one of the phases is off; when the beeping stopped and stayed off for a few minutes, I tried turning the power on again.  It worked that time!  We get to sleep with our air conditioners tonight!  Yes!!  The power company said that new lines are being installed in our neighborhood.  Tomorrow, the new lines are supposed to come to our pole.  So, the power will probably be off during the day tomorrow.  At least they got the problem with the transformer fixed this evening!
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
