Bonjour,

We had school this morning.  The boys wanted to know when Christmas break was going to start.  I think we are all ready for a break from school.

Some fighting went on in Abidjan today.  Gbagbo had the military surround the TV station.  Ouattara's people were not even able to get close to it.  Some of the rebels tried to leave the Golf Hotel, but Gbagbo's military kept them from leaving.  Shots were fired throughout the day.  The rebels in the north tried to come down south today but were also stopped by the military.  There were about 30 killed today and over 100 wounded.  They are expecting more of the same tomorrow.  A stray rocket hit one of the outside perimeter walls of the US Embassy.  No one was injured, and there was little damage done at the embassy.

Not much happened here in Bassam today.  All of the roadblocks are still up, and the roads are closed.

The boys found a worm to feed to the turtle.  Danny was upset because Gilbert had taken his piece of the worm.

At supper tonight, we were talking about the little boy who gave his lunch to Jesus.  Joe asked Danny if he would share his fish with Jesus.  Danny said that he would.  Then, Joe asked Danny if he would share his brownie with Jesus.  Danny replied, "No, I would eat it."  From there, Bonnie started talking about her fish.  She said that it walks and crawls, and she named it Catfish.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
