Bonjour,

Today is Ivorian Independence Day.

Joe took us up to Lenell's apartment. The children and I stayed to help
Lenell today. We did some more unpacking and arranging. Gilbert and
Danny played with Precious, Lenell's puppy. They found things to do to
keep themselves busy. Bonnie lay in her playpen and looked around. She
took a couple naps as well. Lenell had packed a lunch for us. We ate
that. Then, the boys took a nap in Lenell's spare bedroom. She told
them that they were the first ones to sleep in her apartment. I didn't
know how well it would work with both of them in the same bed, but they
both went to sleep.

Joe went into Abidjan. He met up with Dan Post. They went to check out
a new picnic area. We met a lady a couple weeks ago that told us about
a picnic area that we could use if we would like. She took them out
there to show them how to get there. They said that it is very nice.
We will have our next big missionary get-together there.

Joe and Dan ate lunch at Akle, the new restaurant that is owned by a man
from Quebec. They tried the chicken strips today. Joe said that they
were very good.

Joe came back to pick us up from Lenell's apartment. We got home about
3:30. Joe gathered up the sound system and the things that he would
need for the evangelistic meeting in Anyama. He left the house about
4:30 to set up for that. It was supposed to start at 6:00. He got to
the place, but no one was there yet. So, he went to the church, and
they said that they weren't going until 6:00. Joe took a nap in the car
while he waited for them. Joe said that it went well once it finally
got underway. They showed a film and had singing and preaching.

Bonnie's voice is back today. It is still a little bit strained. She
was upset tonight; her stomach was bothering her again.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
