Bonjour,

It rained off and on today.  We had a big storm this evening.  The power went off about 5:00 this evening.  It came back on for a few minutes and then went back off again.  The power company said that there is a problem in our area.  They might fix it tomorrow.  So, we are on the generator for the night.
The kids did their homework this morning and then had fun playing with the kids who came for Bible Club.
The kids swam for a little while this afternoon before the storm hit.
Joe was sick to his stomach this morning, but he felt better this afternoon.  Joe went to the Siekberts' church this afternoon for the ordination questioning of two young men.
During supper tonight, Bonnie said, "Mom, when it was raining, I told Danny, 'Ain't the rain beautiful?' and he said, 'Yes.'"
At school, Danny had been talking about measuring how much it rains.  He had a cup ready to put outside this morning, but it only rained for a minute.  When the storm blew in this evening, he had his cup ready.  The wind was blowing so hard that I told him he would have to wait for the wind to stop blowing to put his cup out.  I think he ended up putting the cup on the porch or under the carport; he collected an inch of rain.  But, I wouldn't be surprised if we got several inches.  It was really coming down!
Gilbert is going to lose more than one toenail.  The toenail that is black and blue is still firmly attached, but the toenail on one of his smaller toes started coming off today.  I guess more than one toe got smashed.
Bonnie had her "Betsy" book tonight.  She was carrying it around the house listening to Betsy read it to her.  Bonnie just about has that book memorized.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
