Bonjour,

We went into Abidjan this morning to get stocked up on groceries before the elections.  We found out this afternoon that they have moved the elections back to November 28 instead of November 21.

On the way into town today, the kids were commenting again.  Gilbert said, "We went this way when we went to church."  He has to get his bearings; he is our child that is good with directions.  Gilbert said, "That lady has a bucket on her head."  Danny took that to mean that her head was in the bucket, and he asked, "Can she see?"  Danny saw a lady with a baby on her back.  He said, "It was such a tiny baby and so cute."  Bonnie piped up, "I didn't get to see her."  Danny said, "It's okay.  We can see her on the way home."  Gilbert got frustrated about that and tried to explain that the same lady was not still going to be there when we came back.

We went to three different stores.  We made a pleasant discovery – they now have Oreos in Ivory Coast!  : )  Bonnie and Danny were so happy; those are their favorite cookies.  They wanted to dive right in, but I told them that we had to pay for them first.

We met Matt and Sarah Litson at a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch.  We enjoyed the time of fellowship.  They had left their girls with Margie; Gilbert and Danny were disappointed about that.

We headed home after lunch.  All the kids fell asleep on the way home.  None of them took a nap when we got home, but I did so that I could get cooled off a little.

I made homemade pizza for supper.  It was the first meal in our new oven.  The oven didn't quite get hot enough.  We will have to do some trial and error the first few times until we get the gas bottle regulated just right.

Last night, Gilbert fell asleep on the couch.  Tonight, both boys fell asleep watching Mary Poppins.  Bonnie is still going strong.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
