Bonjour,
We spent another day at home waiting for the election results. They announced earlier in the day that the results would be announced today at 11:00. Just as they were about to make the announcement, the military came in and said that the results had not been validated by both parties. Apparently some ballet boxes were stolen in the north. Now, the announcement is to be made tomorrow morning at 11:00. The announcement cannot be made any later than midnight tomorrow.
Gbabgo, the current president, has had all of the military come down to Abidjan. Rumors are flying, and tension is high. Looks like it will be at least another week at home. Please continue to pray.
Joe spent the morning moving barrels. He brought the Christmas barrel and the tree inside.
The boys did school this morning with the DVDs. They weren't too thrilled about it, but they got it done. Bonnie likes to watch Gilbert's teacher. She says that it is her teacher.
This evening after supper, we worked on putting the Christmas tree up. As Joe was removing the tree from the box, he found a couple of lizard eggs. One of them had a lizard that was hatching. Gilbert was so excited. He removed the rest of the egg from the lizard before I could stop him. They needed something to put it in. They took it over to show the Post boys. A little while later, they decided that it was dead. Both boys were picking it up and touching it. Danny dropped it, and they didn't know where it went. Then, Gilbert found it on the table. Bonnie took it and threw it outside.
The kids helped put ornaments on the tree. Then, they found some wooden snowmen that I have. The snowmen are bowling pens, and there is a ball that goes with it. It is meant for decoration, but they had a great time playing with it. Joe found some Christmas music for us. We had a good time setting up the tree.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
