Bonjour,
Joe and Charlie spent another day looking around Accra. They should know the layout of Accra pretty well by now. Charlie got his vehicle back this afternoon; they weren’t able to fix the problems because they didn’t have all the parts and said that it would take “three days.” “Three days” could be an eternity here! : ) The ladies fly in tomorrow, the Lord willing. Depending on how fast they get through customs, they may have to stay another night before heading home to avoid driving at night.
As soon as we got up this morning, Danny wanted to make hats. He was just certain that he needed a pilgrim hat and an Indian hat. Bonnie said she was making a princess hat. Gilbert wanted a pilgrim hat too. We got all of those done and then started on school after breakfast. In school today, Danny got to make a Paul Revere hat. He was so thrilled. Gilbert made a George Washington hat last week. So, they both wore their hats all morning. They wore them up to the Luthers’ house. On their way out the door, Gilbert asked, “Mom, what did Paul Revere say? I forgot. Was it, ‘The Jewish are coming?’” I laughed and told him what it was. They charged out the door saying, “The British are coming!”
After lunch, I tried a new brownie recipe. It called for powdered sugar for the frosting. I haven’t found powdered sugar here yet. So, I blended some sugar in the blender. It did turn into powder, but it still tasted a little gritty in the frosting. I found out later that I should have added some cornstarch. I will have to try that next time. All the kids were licking beaters, spatulas, and the bowl.
We all lay down for a while. None of the kids went to sleep. Please don’t outgrow nap time yet!! I enjoy taking a nap too.
The kids played with the Luther kids for a while. Then, we had supper.
After baths, we had church at home tonight. I didn’t think it would be good to take a taxi in the dark with just me and the kids. We sang some songs and then told a Bible story. Then, the kids found a couple Bible story books that they wanted me to read.
Now, the kids are doing flips and tricks. Is it bed time yet???
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
