Bonjour,
Happy Thanksgiving! We had a wonderful day.
I spent the morning in the kitchen. About 1:00, we carried our food over to the Posts' house. We had Thanksgiving dinner with Jennifer, Nathan, Brian, and Isaac Post. Dan and Justin are still at the hospital. Justin is doing better. He was able to eat a little today, and the bad headache that he had is gone. They should get to come home tomorrow afternoon.
Jennifer made the turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash casserole, and dressing. I made rolls, cornbread dressing, deviled eggs, layer salad, broccoli casserole, and green bean casserole. The food was very good. Jennifer made pumpkin pies; I made a buttermilk pie and a chocolate cream pie. Danny gave deviled eggs a new name today. He said, "Mom, can I have some more egg rolls?" He loved the deviled eggs and ate most of them. We did set aside a few for Justin and Dan so that they could have some tomorrow. Bonnie's favorites were the rolls and the chocolate pie, but she insisted that it was a cake and not a pie. Gilbert seemed to like it all.
After lunch, Bonnie and I took a nap. Then, we went back over to the Posts' house and played some games. We snacked on leftovers this evening. We stayed over there until late this evening. We had a great time. Just before we left, the boys were out in the living room scaring each other. Danny came back to where we were playing Rook and said, "Mom, they're creeping me and won't stop." He was so tired.
The city water was off most of the day again. It came on this afternoon for a little while. Jennifer and I both started a load of laundry, but the water went back off before the load finished. The power fluctuates a lot at night too. It went completely off just as I was typing this e-mail, but it came back on a minute later. Praise the Lord! It is much easier to sleep with a fan on than having no air moving at all.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
