Bonjour,
Joe preached at the fire station this morning. Then, he went to the mechanic. He had ordered some new headlights; he had those installed. Then, he also had to have some work done on the radiator; it was leaking again.
The whole country has been out of propane gas. They are having trouble getting any. When they do get it, it is just half a shipment here and there. We are on our last bottle and have been trying to get our other bottles refilled. The guy from the gas place called Joe this afternoon and said that they had gas. By the time he got there with our bottles, they were just putting out the "No Gas" sign. He said that they are supposed to get another half shipment in tonight. He kept our bottles to fill them. He said that due to the shortage, the prices have gone up by 50%. A lot of the taxis run on propane here; they are not allowing any taxis to get propane right now. They are only filling personal bottles. Pray that we can get our bottles filled.
The kids and I had a cleaning day this morning. Kristine helped us for a while too. I worked in the kids' bedroom most of the morning. They helped for a while. Danny came in the room after he had been out of it for a little while. He said, "Mom, you're doing such a good job! You CAN do it all by yourself!" He was wanting to sweep the rug. He asked if I could move the things on the rug so that he could sweep. I told him that I had been working on moving those things all morning.
It rained all morning. The sun came out around noon. I had washed a couple loads of laundry and got them out on the line as soon as the rain stopped.
Jackie came over to do some laundry too. Their washing machine is still down. A couple of her kids came. They swam and then ate lunch with us. The kids enjoyed playing with them.
At nap time, I checked on the kids, and they were almost asleep. So, I lay down for a little while. Come to find out, none of them went to sleep. They all escaped outside and went to the guard building to watch TV.
Joe got home about 4:00. Kristine made a pineapple upside-down cake with some of our fresh pineapples. I made some enchiladas and fried cheese puffs for supper. The kids really liked the cheese puffs, me too!
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
