Bonjour,
Bonnie woke up in the middle of the night searching for something. She
woke up the whole household. After she gets worked up about something,
she says, "Well, that's because why."
In our morning family devotions, we have been memorizing Psalm 1. Joe
went through the chapter verse by verse and explained what each verse
meant. Every morning when we finish saying the chapter, Danny says, "I
know what 'righteous' means, Dad. It means that you love God. I know
what 'perish' means too; it means die." Those two words have really
stuck with him.
We had a good day at church at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Takoradi.
This morning after the service, they had a business meeting to decide
about accepting Joe as the missionary pastor until a national can be
trained to be the pastor. The church has really been struggling in the
past couple months, and the attendance has gone down hill. They voted
to have Joe be the missionary pastor. We had planned to work on the
local tribal language before starting a church. Joe already understands
quite a bit of Fante. He thinks he can pick it up as he goes along just
visiting with the people. He will have someone translate into Fante for
the time being.

The kids and I rode home with the Luthers because the meeting lasted
quite a while. I tried to get the kids to take naps before Bible club,
but they were afraid they were going to miss it if they fell asleep.
Bonnie fell asleep outside in the grass during Bible club.
We had a good evening service as well. Joe will start preaching on
Wednesday night.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
