Bonjour,
We were awakened at 2:00 A.M. by the guard tapping on the window. He
had received a call from Max, who was trying to get Joe on his cell
phone. Mr. Kesse, one of the men at the church in Belleville, was very
sick and needed to be taken to the hospital. So, Joe headed into Anyama
to get Romeo. They went out to Belleville to get Mr. and Mrs. Kesse.
Mr. Kesse couldn't walk and didn't know who anyone was; if anyone asked
him anything, he just kept saying, "Leave me alone; just let me die."
Mrs. Kesse said, "No, you aren't going to die and leave me with all of
our children."
Joe took them to a clinic in Abobo. The doctor there is a friend of Mr.
Kesse. The doctor wasn't at the clinic and said he would come in the
morning. Mrs. Kesse talked to him and explained the seriousness of the
situation. The doctor needed a ride to the clinic; so, Joe went to pick
him up. Then, Joe had to go in search of a pharmacy that was open at
that time of night because the clinic didn't have any medicine.
The doctor gave him several shots and started him on an IV. He said he
would be back in the morning to run some tests. Joe and Romeo went
home. Just after they left, Mr. Kesse started having seizures. The
doctor came back and said that they couldn't meet his needs there at the
clinic. So, he took them to the Cocody Hospital. Joe got home a
little after 6:00 A.M.
Joe taught the adult Sunday school class today. Romeo preached the
morning message. There were 80 in attendance this morning. Several of
the children and teens that normally come have gone to the village for
vacation while school is out. We had 26 in our class today.

Everyone except for Joe took a nap. He worked in the office.
Church went well this evening. Joe preached tonight. After church, he
and Romeo found someone to stay with the Kesse children tonight. Then,
they took some things to the hospitals that the Kesses needed. Mr.
Kesse was talking this evening but still isn't recognizing everyone. He
did know his wife and brothers but not Joe and Romeo. They said that he
was very low on salt but they weren't sure why. Please pray for Mr.
Kesse.
The children and I went over to see Lenell's puppy for a little while
after church. The boys love that little dog.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
