Big changes are underway for the Consford family, and we are excited to share this next phase of our journey with you! After years of running our family business, Hardware on the Square, we have officially closed the doors. It was a bittersweet ending, but necessary for the incredible work God has called us to next: full-time missionary service in Ghana, West Africa.

We invite you to follow along with us on this Missionary Adventure with the Consfords. There will be exciting updates, stories from the mission field, and opportunities for you to partner with us in prayer and support. Whether you are a longtime friend, a new supporter, or just stumbled upon our page, we welcome you to join us in this amazing adventure.
Closing a Chapter to Open a New One
Closing the hardware store was no small task. As anyone who has ever run a small business knows, it takes a tremendous amount of work to wind things down properly. We spent countless hours finalizing inventory, clearing out equipment, and preparing the building for its next use.
This was a task filled with both hard work and reflection. Our business was more than just a way to make a living—it was a place where we connected with our community, built friendships, and even shared the Gospel. Yet, through prayer and clear direction from the Lord, we knew it was time to fully commit to the calling that has been on our hearts for years: returning to West Africa as missionaries.
Now that the hardware store is officially closed, we are fully engaged in deputation, the process of visiting churches to raise the necessary financial and prayer support for our ministry in Ghana. It’s a challenging but rewarding season, and we are eager to connect with churches across the country.
Our Schedule is Filling Up!
We are actively booking meetings with churches who are interested in hearing about our ministry and the work God is doing in Ghana. If you are a pastor or church leader, or if your church is looking to support missionaries with a heart for West Africa, we would love to schedule a time to visit and present our ministry.
You can reach me directly by phone at (936) 275-5177 to schedule a meeting or ask any questions you might have. We would be honored to share our vision, experiences, and how your church can be part of this Missionary Adventure with the Consfords.
Our First Mission Trip is Booked!
One of the most exciting developments is that we have just booked tickets for our very first mission trip as the Consford family since committing to return to the field. Gilbert, our oldest son, and I will be heading to Ghana this November along with five other people. This trip marks the beginning of what we hope will be many more opportunities for others to experience missionary work first-hand.
We are eager to reconnect with the people and places where we previously served and to see how the Lord has continued to work in our absence. During this trip, we will visit churches, meet with local pastors, and lay the groundwork for our return to full-time ministry. It will also give Gilbert a chance to experience the mission field as an adult and see the land where he spent part of his childhood.
We are treating this trip as a preview of the missionary adventure ahead. We plan to document our journey day by day, sharing updates, stories, and insights from the field. This will give all of you a front-row seat to the work God is doing in Ghana—and a better understanding of the realities of missions.
