Bonjour!

This morning, Joe went visiting. They had some good visits.

Gilbert wasn’t too sure about playing with the noisy car or getting on the

bike today. He touched them a little, but he didn’t want to turn the car on

or get on the bike.

I have been having some bad headaches. I had one this afternoon. I took a

nap. Joe made supper.

Bonjour!

Today is Gilbert’s birthday. They sang to him at church today. He kept

saying, “Birthday!” and pointing to himself. Joe has been working with him

to get him to say, “I’m 2.” He has said it a few times now.

We have a plastic fan that we take to church. Gilbert was holding it during

Sunday school. A fly landed on the bench in front of us. The fan became a

fly swatter! Gilbert was after those flies saying, “Get it!”

After lunch, we all took a nap.

I had nursery duty with the boys during the evening service. Joe was sick

when he got home from church. He said that he started to get dizzy during

church. By the time that he got home, he was very achy and had a

temperature of 101. He called the doctor to see which malaria cure he

should take. He had to go to the pharmacy to get the cure. He was

exhausted when he got back home. Then, the power went off. He went outside

to start the generator, and the battery was dead. The power came back on

and then went off again. Just as he got the battery charged, the power came

Bonjour!

Joe’s temperature went up during the night. He had to take the second part

of the malaria medicine at 3:30 this morning. Now, he will take it every

twelve hours for the next forty-eight hours. By this morning, the fever had

broken. He is still very achy and not feeling well at all.

Last night, Gilbert wanted to stay up for his true birthday, 11:16 P.M. He

took a long nap yesterday and wasn’t ready for bed at bed time. I stayed up

with him for awhile.

When it was time for me to go teach my class this morning, Gilbert was still

asleep. I took Danny to class with me. Danny was content in the stroller

for awhile. Then, I held him for awhile. I was trying to write on the

board and hold Danny at the same time. One of the students took Danny for

me. I gave a spelling quiz and reviewed for the test next week. I

dismissed class early. Joe was going to give tests in his classes this

week. So, I found someone who could give his tests so that I could go back

home.

While the boys are taking a nap, I am going to take a taxi to the internet

café. It isn’t too far from the house. If you receive this e-mail, you

will know that I successfully figured out how to use the computer at the

internet café!

Please pray for Joe that he will get over malaria quickly!

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
