Pastor Dare showed up to the men's cookout with live rabbits, and Bro. Sammy showed up with a bag of chicken gizzards big enough to feed half of Takoradi. Between the two of them and Bro. Ruckman's hot dogs and sausages, nobody at that charcoal grill went hungry.
Today was the Ladies Meeting, and over one hundred and twenty women came out for it. Laura and Mrs. Angie had a full program planned, singing, games, and some lessons that hit hard in the right way. A lot of the ladies in that room were not saved, and the Gospel was presented clearly to every one of them. Each lady got a meal and a gift bag on the way out.
While the ladies' program ran, the men set up a charcoal grill outside for a cookout of our own. Bro. Sammy is a name I have known a long time. Years ago, when we were in Ghana the first time around, I led him to Christ as a small child. Watching him show up as a grown man with a bag of gizzards for the cookout is the kind of thing that reminds you why we keep coming back.

We laughed and ate and enjoyed the fellowship more than the food itself, if that is possible with gizzards on the grill. Bro. Tayo, a man I have known for over twenty years, spent part of the afternoon reading through the feedback pastors had sent him about the conference. He could barely contain himself. Pastor after pastor told him the preaching was exactly what they needed, and that the singing, preaching, and fellowship had encouraged them more than they expected.
Once the ladies' meeting and the cookout wrapped up, we cleaned everything up at the church and headed home. Bro. Ruckman drove the ladies and kids back in his vehicle, and Bro. Reno and I caught a taxi.
The rest of the evening was quiet. We ate leftovers for supper, and I walked to a store near the house for ice cream. Then we pulled out the espresso machine and made affogatos, vanilla ice cream drowning in a shot of espresso. That might be my favorite way to end a day in Ghana.
We got our plans set for Sunday and turned in for the night. God has done some amazing things on this trip, and we are grateful for every bit of it. We are also ready to get home and get busy finishing the support raising it will take to get back to the mission field full time. There is a lot of work left to do.

What happened to the rest of those chickens that gave up the gizzards. LOL!
They became emotional support animals for some people in need of emotional support!
