Bonjour,
This e-mail is being typed in the dark. The power just went off. One
phase went off last night about this time and was off all night. We are
hoping that won't be the case tonight.
We started school this morning. Then, the power went off. I was
supposed to leave about 10:00 to meet Kristine and Becky for lunch. So,
we didn't finish school. I got two loads of laundry on the line before
I left.
Joe was going to go into town with Bonnie while we were doing school.
But, the car wouldn't start again. We have been having issues with the
battery. We bought a new one a couple weeks ago, but they don't want to
guarantee it now. Joe is going to take the vehicle to an electrician to
see if they can fix the problem. If not, we'll probably have to buy
another new battery.
I walked to the taxi station, but there were not any taxis there. So, I
walked on out to the main road and still didn't find a taxi right away.
As I was walking along, my hat blew off and landed in the sewer ditch.
I did not retrieve it. Soon after that, I found a taxi. The taxi
driver did not speak much English and kept trying to change the price on
me. When we got to the restaurant where I was meeting Kristine and
Becky, I gave him the amount we had agreed on. He was still trying to
get more money, but I just walked away.

I had a good time with Kristine and Becky. After lunch, we went to the
grocery store next door. Then, we went back to their house. Kristine
and I watched a movie. Then, we called a taxi driver that we know, and
he took me home.
Gilbert and Danny were up playing with the Luther kids. Bonnie was just
waking up from her nap.
After supper, Danny fell asleep about 7:30. Joe tried to wake him up
but to no avail. Danny will probably be up at 5:00 with bells on.
The power just came back on. Praise the Lord! It is much easier to
sleep that way.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
