Bonjour,

We had a good day at church today. Gilbert is getting adjusted to going to the class for the children his age. During Sunday School, he is with the 3-6 year olds. Everything is in French. But, when they sing, he makes noise. When they clap, he claps. When they talk, he tries to repeat what they say.

Danny went to the ladies class with me for Sunday School. He is starting to jabber a lot. He says “Ma Ma;” Gilbert and Joe are trying to get him to say “Da Da” now. Danny really wanted to get down on the floor to play.

During church, there is a class for the 1-3 year olds. I took Danny over there with Gilbert. They have a mat on the ground; so, Danny could get down and crawl on that. I had to keep a close eye on him because he kept spotting another shoe. They all take their shoes off before walking on the mat. Gilbert really enjoyed that class. The teacher was talking about creation and asking what God had made. I told Gilbert in English and asked him what God made. He said, “God made the moon.” When it was his turn, he told her that, and I interpreted it. She gave him a piece of candy and had everyone clap for him. She told the other children that he is only two and that he could answer questions. Some of the other children weren’t participating at all.

On the way home, I was telling Joe that Gilbert answered a question and got a piece of candy for it. So, Joe asked Gilbert, “What did God make?” I said, “God made . . . ” and Gilbert said, “God made candy!”

Joe preached at the Belleville church tonight. Matt baptized a couple of his converts at the Anyama church tonight; there isn’t a baptistry at the Belleville church. Joe did a good job.

A demain,

Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
