Bonjour,
This morning, we headed to Bassam. Gilbert's new saying for the day was
"I can't believe I saw…" First, he saw a yellow school bus. That is
the only yellow bus that we have seen here. We stopped at the gas
station, and the bus went by again. Gilbert said, "I can't believe I
saw two buses!" Then, it was, "I can't believe I saw an elephant."
(There is a Catholic church that is shaped like an elephant.) A few
minutes later, he said, "I can't believe I saw the ocean!"
Joe left the children and I at the Posts' house while he and Dan went on
to Bonoua to make some visits. They passed out some tracts and explored
some new neighborhoods today.
The boys had a good time playing with the Post boys. They had a little
bird that someone had brought to them. Gilbert though that was great.
Bonnie took a long nap this morning. She didn't wake up until just
before we left the Posts' house.

We stopped at the store to get a few things for our trip to Ghana. We
will be leaving on Thursday to go to Ghana. We will spend a couple days
by the ocean and then go on to Takoradi on Saturday. Joe will be
preaching at the Siekberts' church on Sunday to kick off a Bible
conference for them. On Monday, we will do a little shopping in
Takoradi and stay near the border that night. Then, we will head back
home on Tuesday. Please pray that we will have a safe trip.
The children were all asleep. So, Joe sat with them in the car while I
ran in to get a few things. The kids woke up just as I headed back out
to the vehicle. From there, we headed to the US Embassy to vote by
absentee ballot. All of the children went right back to sleep. Gilbert
and Danny were both nodding off and kept hitting heads. Gilbert said,
"Danny, quit waking me up! I'm trying to sleep." Danny didn't know
what in the world Gilbert was talking about because he had been asleep too.
We got to the embassy, filled out the necessary paperwork, and voted. I
was starting to get a bad headache. So, we went to a restaurant in town
so that I could eat and drink something. I rested for a little bit
after we got home, and my head is doing a lot better. Joe is feeling
better today too.
