Yesterday marked one year since I graduated. The year has flown by. I am thankful for all the opportunities and experiences I have had this past year, and am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for the next year.

This morning, I got up, read my Bible, and got ready for the day. Once I was ready, I went downstairs and had two banana muffins for breakfast. After breakfast, I waited at the house for Prince to get there for us to round up the kids for the bus route. (I also got news that Bro. Ruckman was not feeling well and that he wanted me to preach the evening service. I did not have anything written down, but I have had a sermon floating around in my head for a while; so I just needed to get it out on paper.)

Once Prince got to the house, we headed to the village. I had decided to try to start writing some things down for my sermon, but there was so much going on that I did not get much accomplished. By things going on, I am talking about kids lying in the dirt throwing fits, kids running all around trying to get cleaned up so they could come to church, and many other things. Once the kids were ready, we caught a taxi and headed to church. We had five kids come from the village today.

Once we got to church, Bro. Arhin taught the Sunday school lesson. Bro. Ruckman did not come until the morning service because he was not feeling well at all. Thankfully, when he got there for the morning service, he was feeling somewhat better. While he preached the morning service, Bro. Arhin and I ran our Jr. Church class. We had a good class, and I got to teach the lesson. After we had finished, I rounded up the kids who needed to go back to the village. Then, I headed back in a taxi with them. Once dropped off, I went into the house to get changed into some non-soaked from sweat clothes. Once the Ruckmans got to the house, we had some lunch.

After lunch, I started laundry, worked on my sermon, dried my laundry, folded my laundry, then finished up a few things on my sermon. After a bit of a rest, it was time for me to head to church for choir practice. We were able to practice a song for sometime in the near future, and we were able to sing a song for this evening’s service. After singing a few more songs as a church, the ladies dismissed, and I preached to the men and boys. (Just so you all know, we have been doing this for the past several weeks, where we have two separate classes – one for the men and boys and one for the ladies and girls.) I was able to say all I wanted to say and was able to make it about thirty-six minutes with a translator, so about eighteen minutes without a translator. After I had finish preaching, Bro. Ruckman tagged on a few things to my message before dismissing. Once we had dismissed, everyone fellowshipped for a while. The Ruckmans usually talk with the adults while I play with and talk with the kids. After the Ruckmans had taken a few people back to their houses, they came back and picked up Prince and me.

Once we got back to the house, I went up to my room and took a shower before supper. I was also able to talk with my parents and siblings as they were on their way to church. We ate supper while we watched a show in the living room. After we had finished watching the show for the night, I watched the Ruckmans goof around for a few minutes before I headed up to my room. Once I got up to my room, I listened to my home churches service. It was a really encouraging message.

It is currently 12:21 A.M. I stayed up a bit late to watch the service, but it was well worth it. We don’t have any plans for tomorrow that I know of; so, I am probably going to sleep in a bit. 😉 (I tried to add in some more details from the day. I hope I do not get too monotonous.)

  1. I always enjoy hearing about your day. Danny did a great job on his solo at the services tonight. Sounds like the kids there are similar to the kids here! I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. I’ve been praying for you. ❤️
