Bonjour,
We had a busy day today. The carpenter came this morning with the finishing touches for the pantry shelves. The cement workers came too; they got the sidewalk poured and part of the driveway. Then, they ran out of cement.
We left the house around 11:00 to go to Abidjan. The main reason for going was to check on Lenell’s missing bag. When we call, they say that it isn’t there. But, we wanted to double check to see if it might be there; and if it wasn’t, we wanted to find out if there was anything else we could do.
The Engelharts’ vehicle is down again. So, Margie rode with us. Lenell came along for the ride too.
We stopped at a store and then went for lunch. We went to the place with Mexican food. Yummy! Then, we went on to the airport. The bag isn’t there yet. The airline that she flew in on doesn’t have an office at the airport. They filed another claim with the baggage department. Joe also talked to a guy that he knows there. He is going to check on it again in the morning to see if it comes in on the next flight. The man said, “Oh, it hasn’t even been a week yet; you don’t need to worry yet!” Lenell is just glad that she had most of her clothes packed in one of the bags that did arrive!
As we headed back to go back across the bridge, the police were making everyone get off of the main road. There wasn’t anywhere else to go; so, we were just on the side of the road. The president was coming through. As soon as the cavalcade passed, the traffic was right back out on the road. It was a giant free-for-all. I was a bit nervous, to say the least!

We stopped at one more store and then headed home. We got home around 4:30. We didn’t want to put Gilbert down for a nap that late in the day. So, we let him stay up. He was going strong until a little after 10:00.
Matt had an activity with the boys from his church this evening. They are spending the night at the Anyama church. They are supposed to play games and have a bonfire. Joe went to get in on the fun. He planned to sleep in the car. It is raining right now; so, it could be an interesting night.
The boys and I spent the evening over at the Litsons. We had pizza. Then, Lenell gave me a hair cut. We found out that she cuts hair; so, we are putting her to work while she is here.
Both boys are asleep. So, I’m headed to bed too!
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, and Danny
