Bonjour,

Joe and Max went into Abidjan this morning. We need to get Bonnie's
Ivorian birth certificate so that we can take it to the US Embassy to
begin the process for Bonnie's passport and born-abroad birth
certificate. Max went with Joe to show him where he needed to go. When
they got there, the people told them that he had to have a copy of our
marriage license and a French translation. After some talking, they
decided they only needed a copy of the license and not a French
translation.

One of the other missionaries said that he thought they were just trying
to be difficult because they didn't have to present that to get the
birth certificate for their child. Oh well! He will have to go back
another day to take the marriage license because they would have been
closed for lunch by the time he got back to their office.

Joe told the boys that they would go swimming after naps. As soon as
Gilbert finished lunch, he said, "I'm ready for my nap." He went and
got right in bed. As soon as he woke up, he said, "Daddy, I'm ready to
go swimming." It looked like it was going to rain, but they went ahead
and swam for a few minutes.

Danny was looking for Bonnie this evening. He wanted to hold her. He
said, "Bonnie." I told him that she was asleep. He pointed toward the
bedroom and said, "Get her."

Please pray for my sister, Emily. Her water broke this morning. She
went to the hospital; but her contractions hadn't started, and she
wasn't dilated yet. They sent her back home. She will go back to the
hospital this evening.
