Bonjour,
This morning, Joe went to preach at the fire station. Then, he came back and did some things around the house. The base of the mower was rusting out. So, he took it apart to have it welded. The cement holding tank for our water has a crack in it. We have been waiting for a mason to come fix it for over a week now and have not been keeping much water in the tank so that the cracked area could dry out in preparation for repairs. We were out of water in the tank this morning; so, he got it filled up again.
The kids did some painting this morning. Gilbert is pretty good at it. Danny's was quite colorful. Bonnie had more paint on her than on her paper.
After lunch, we went down for naps. The kids never went to sleep. They must need to burn some more energy in the mornings or something! After they rested for a while, they went outside to play. A little while later, a lady was banging on our gate. Joe went out to see what she needed. She said that one of the children was throwing rocks at her. She had told him that she was going to beat him if he didn't stop, and he kept doing it. So, she came to tell us. Danny was the culprit. Gilbert didn't actually throw any rocks, but he was telling Danny to throw another one. So, they were both in big trouble! There was no swimming this afternoon! Bonnie was upset about that because she didn't throw any rocks.
The kids helped me make sweet and sour meatballs for supper. Gilbert was tearing up the bread for bread crumbs, and Bonnie was putting the crumbs in the bowl. Danny helped me make the sauce. Gilbert helped me roll the meatballs. It was quite a production.
Kristine helped me with the dishes. Bonnie was complaining about her stomach hurting after supper. She needed a rag, a towel, and ice. She would lie down and have me put it all on her stomach; then, in a few minutes, she was folding up the towels and was off to play again.
The dryer is still not working properly. Joe took it apart and tried to figure out what is causing the problem. Each time, he would get it all apart, then it would start working again.
A demain,
Joe, Laura, Gilbert, Danny, and Bonnie
