Houston to Dubai on the Biggest Airplane in the World

Our Emirates flight leaves Houston at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday. We are flying an Airbus A380, the largest commercial airplane in the world. Fifteen hours later, we land in Dubai at 8:10 p.m. on Friday. That is an entire day in the air, crossing the Atlantic, the Sahara, and the Arabian Peninsula in one sitting.

We get 11 hours in Dubai before the next flight. Eleven hours in that skyline. I don’t know exactly what we’ll do with them, but I’m guessing we won’t be bored.

From Dubai to Accra

Our second flight takes us from Dubai to Accra, Ghana, where we land at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday. From the airport, we grab a taxi to a hotel where we will meet up with Pastor Bob Reno. Bob pastors Berean Baptist Church in Puyallup, Washington, and he is one of the main speakers at the conference we are heading to.

Missionary on Fire Podcast

Preserving the Legacy of Faithful Missionaries

The Missionary on Fire podcast features interviews with veteran missionaries, classic sermons from the field, and stories of God’s faithfulness across generations. If you love the heart behind these stories, you will love the podcast. New episodes regularly.

A Prop Plane to Takoradi

After connecting with Pastor Reno in Accra, we head to the domestic airport and catch a prop plane to Takoradi. If everything goes according to plan, we should touch down around 6:30 Saturday evening.

We are heading to Takoradi for a pastor’s conference hosted by missionary James Ruckman and Hope of Africa Baptist Ministry. Pastors from across the region will gather for training, fellowship, and encouragement. That is what the 12,400 miles are for. That is why you pack a bag, drive to Houston, fly through the night, and climb onto a prop plane in Accra.

We cannot wait to see what God is going to do on this trip. Please pray for safe travel, for the conference, and for the pastors who will be there. You can follow along with us at consfords.com/connect.
