By the end of June, we had spent 140 days in church this year and put over 35,000 miles on the truck. Laura and Bonnie will tell you I complain about long drives, but every mile toward the West Africa pastors conference in August has been worth it.
Life on the Road During Deputation
God continues to provide right on His own schedule. We are sitting at about 65 percent of our support now, and we can feel the finish line getting closer. There is so much work waiting for us in Ghana, and the three of us are ready to jump in with both feet.
We still have plenty of churches to visit and plenty of miles to drive before we fly out in August, and even more waiting for us when we get home. The road has a way of testing a family, but it has also been a gift to sit across the table from so many pastors and church members who care about West Africa.

Heading Back to Ghana for the West Africa Pastors Conference
At the end of August, we are heading to Ghana for ten days. Mount Calvary Fundamental Baptist Church holds a West African pastors’ conference every year, and this year we expect over 200 pastors to be there. I have been asked to speak, and I could not be more grateful for the chance to stand alongside our preacher friends in Ghana.
Encouraging West African pastors to stay faithful and keep reaching their own communities is one of the most important things God has called us to do. These men are on the front lines every day, long after we get back on a plane to Texas. Standing behind them matters.
