This past week was another exciting step in our missionary deputation journey as we prepare to return to Ghana, West Africa. God continues to open doors, and the calendar is filling quickly with meetings, conferences, and opportunities to share our burden for church planting and training national pastors.
Calling Pastors and Lining Up Meetings
Joe spent much of the week contacting pastors and confirming meetings for the coming months. It is a blessing to see so many churches eager to partner with us in reaching Ghana with the Gospel. Every phone call, every scheduled service, and every new connection is another reminder that God is weaving together His amazing plan.

Three Churches in the Houston Area
On Sunday, we had the privilege of presenting our ministry in three churches in the Houston area. Each congregation welcomed us with open hearts, and it was a joy to preach, share our vision, and fellowship with believers who are passionate about missions.
One special highlight came when Laura was reunited with a high school classmate she had not seen in 32 years! Deputation is not only about raising support but also about reconnecting with old friends and making new ones in the family of God.
Dyresdale Baptist Church Camp Meeting
One of the most amazing stops was Dyresdale Baptist Church, a small congregation that accomplishes something extraordinary every year. Though the church has fewer than 10 members—most of whom are over 85 years old—they host an annual camp meeting that brings nearly 300 people together for three days of preaching, singing, and fellowship.
With over 150 beds, RV hookups, dining facilities, and a massive tabernacle, this event is nothing short of miraculous. Evangelists, pastors, and singing groups from across the country gather to encourage one another and to keep fighting the good fight of faith.
It is humbling to see how God can use even the smallest congregations to make a massive impact.
Upcoming Book Launch and Double Signing
Our book launch is going strong, and we are thrilled to announce a special book signing at the San Augustine Public Library on September 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM.

All proceeds from book sales will go directly toward helping us move to Ghana, rent a home, and furnish it so we can immediately begin ministry upon arrival.
At the same time, Laura will also be hosting a book table at a Ladies Retreat in Wylie, Texas, where many of her friends will gather. It will be a double launch weekend, and we can’t wait to see how God uses these opportunities to encourage and inspire others.
Looking Ahead
This week promises to be just as busy! We will be with close friends in Joaquin, TX, and then travel to the Longview area for two new church meetings. Each stop along the deputation trail reminds us of the power of God’s people working together for the sake of the Gospel.
