What Does Missionary Support in Africa Really Look Like?
When people hear “missionary support in Africa,” they often imagine a dusty road, a backpack, and someone handing out Bibles in a faraway land. And while that image isn’t wrong (we’ve definitely done all three!), the real picture is much deeper—and much more exciting. Missionary support means fueling the work of evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and training national leaders who will reach their own people with the Gospel.
For our family, missionary support in Africa isn’t a hobby or a side mission. It’s the heartbeat of everything we do. And guess what? It’s not just our mission. It’s your mission too, when you get involved.

Why Missionary Support in Africa Matters More Than Ever
Let’s face it—Africa is exploding with opportunity for the Gospel. The doors are wide open, but the laborers are few. That’s where you come in.
By supporting missionaries in Africa, you’re not just sending help—you’re sending hope. You’re helping train pastors, build churches, teach Bible college students, and yes, even feed orphans and educate children in remote villages.
The local church is growing in West Africa, but without missionary support, many national pastors struggle to plant and sustain churches. The Consfords are committed to providing tools, training, and encouragement, but we can’t do it alone.
And we don’t do it without accountability, either. Every part of our ministry is conducted under the authority of our sending church, Central Baptist Church in Center, TX. We’re not lone rangers—we’re sent ones.
Different Ways to Provide Missionary Support in Africa
You might be wondering, “What can I really do?” Great question! There are three big ways to support missions in Africa:
- Pray Intentionally – Prayer is not a last resort; it’s our first weapon. When you pray, you stand shoulder to shoulder with us on the frontlines of ministry.
- Give Sacrificially – Every dollar helps. Whether it’s sending a national pastor to Bible college or buying Bibles in the local dialect, your gift has an eternal impact.
- Go Willingly – Want to see it for yourself? Join us on a mission trip! When trips are scheduled, our Church Planting in West Africa page will provide all the info you need.
Bonus Option: Share our ministry with your church, your small group, or your coffee-loving neighbor (who might also need to read about missions with a double espresso in hand).
Missionary Work in Africa Is a Team Effort
Here’s something people often forget: missionaries can’t do it all. And they’re not supposed to. The Apostle Paul didn’t go it alone—he had churches, friends, and supporters helping every step of the way.
At Consfords.com, we believe in team missions. That means national pastors, partnering churches, short-term mission teams, and YOU working together for one purpose: to make Christ known in West Africa.
Whether it’s helping a young man get through Bible college or planting a new church in a rural village, missionary support in Africa is always a partnership.
Real missions. Real people. Real results.
How to Get Started with Missionary Support in Africa
Getting involved doesn’t require a passport or a camel (though we’ve seen a few camels). It starts right where you are. Here’s how you can begin today:
- Visit your local church and ask how your church supports missions. If they don’t yet, we’d love to help them get started!
- Partner with us through Central Baptist Church. All financial support should be sent to: Central Baptist Church
909 Cora Street
Center, TX 75935
(Please make the check payable to Central Baptist Church and write “Consfords” in the memo.) - Subscribe to our updates and follow along as we post stories and opportunities. The work is exciting—and we want you in on the action.
- Encourage others to pray or give. You’d be amazed at what happens when a small town church catches a big vision for missions.
